What is The Materials Exchange?

The Materials Exchange is a place for us to gather online to share our experiences of working with found materials. At The Materials Center in NYC, we love talking to educators, makers, parents, and students about their questions, work, and experiences — all while in physical contact with the materials themselves. We’re excited to continue to share our ideas through pictures and words on The Materials Exchange, and we hope that you will also let us know what you’re doing. In addition to sharing our philosophies and practice of finding and working with materials, we’ll be posting our experiences of teaching our new online class (launching in October), Play/Create/Build: Materials on the Go. New opportunities and discoveries often come out of crisis, and we are eager to see what this new form of collaboration and communication will bring.
